Staff

Blessed with a loyal team

We keep our staff as happy as our residents and as a result, staff turnover at Glasfryn House is very low. We are blessed with a loyal, experienced and secure team who are able to focus on our residents wholeheartedly.

Glasfryn Staff are stayers; our manager Maria and deputy manager Kelly have extensive experience and knowledge in care, our qualified nursing team can boast of combined experience of over 70 years, 8 of our care assistants have worked here for more than 15 years while our chef has been with us for over 25 years.

In The Community

Our staff are committed to a team approach not only in the care they give to residents but also to the wider community – for several years they have chosen a specific charity and engaged, as a team, in a fund raising effort and have raised significant amounts of money.

Ongoing Training

Staff training is comprehensive and based on a model developed in conjunction with the local health board where Glasfryn took part in a pilot study on training, supervision and appraisal. The staff induction programme is based on that recommended by the Care Council for Wales. The home also sends selected staff on external training courses for such topics as food hygiene, lifting and handling, care of the elderly, first aid, drugs practice, etc.

A continuous staff-training programme is implemented to ensure that these high standards are maintained in line with the latest developments in care practices as may be laid down in appropriate legislation, regulations and the national care standards in Wales.
